Kaylee's Birthday

Kaylee turned 11 on February 10th. We loved having Grandma Georgia and Papa Ralph in town for Tori's baptism because that meant Kaylee and Tori both got to have grandparents around on their birthdays. Kaylee somehow convinced Kevin to allow furry pet creatures into our house and we now have guinea pigs as part of the family. Kaylee was quite excited.

At this point Kaylee has figured out that she has permission to have guinea pigs, but we have given her just some accessories and she thinks she has to purchase the actual pet.

Grandma Georgia and Papa Ralph saved the day and gave her the money to buy ONE guinea pig. Of course, this meant an immediate trip to the pet store to find the adorable creature.

OK - I did say ONE guinea pig, right?!?! This is Squirt and she is piggy #2. Kaylee felt sorry for Ziggy (dark one in picture below who wouldn't stay still for the camera) and went back to purchase Squirt the next day with her own money.

We really do like these new additions to the family. Ziggy is kind of plump, very cute and quiet. Squirt is a maniac who constantly chatters. She fits in quite nicely with the Draughon girls and seems to make Ziggy very happy. I think Kaylee was right about Ziggy needing a friend. They amuse us regularly and Kaylee is turning out to be quite the responsible pet owner.
