Jedi Training

We went to Disneyland on January 14th.  It was one of those Fridays in California when we can't pay our teachers so we just don't have school...but it meant we could have a long weekend.  We were off driving cars and being scared by crazy drivers, when the Jedi training started.  We had never watched it before and certainly had never thought about participating, but Draughons would make wonderful Jedis, so off we went.

Kimber and Tavin were chosen as part of the training.  I was sad that Tori didn't get picked too, but she is always so good about being happy for her siblings when something fun happens for them.  Kaylee was too old to be considered and had fun helping me position the little kids to be chosen.  They were cute to watch.  Tavin wasn't quite sure about it, so having Kimber with him helped him be brave.

Tavin loved it until Darth Vader showed up.  He didn't want anything to do with fighting the BIG guy, so he came to sit with me and watch as Kimber taught Darth Vader a thing or two about using a light saber.  Go Kimber!!!

I think this was taken after she fought Darth Vader.  The "before" look was a little less calm. I could tell that she was really nervous about going up on the big stage to fight Darth Vader, but I could see the customary set to her chin that conveyed she wouldn't be taking any other road than the one right through the bad guy.  Good job, Kimber.  We love our feisty redhead.  When Kimber was the star of the week for her class, she shared these pictures and all the kids (even the boys) thought they were pretty cool.
