Eternal Rewards

The theme for the 2012 Temecula Stake YW Camp was Eternal Rewards.  We camped from June 11-14, 2012.  Our camp began at Pine Summit in Big Bear and concluded after a 10.5 mile Temple Journey to the Redlands, CA Temple on Thursday morning.  The official end to camp came that night after a beautiful dinner and fireside plus ward testimony meetings.  I will probably never adequately convey my thoughts and feelings about the experiences surrounding this camp, but I will try.  I want my daughters, my son and my grandchildren to know the value of hard things - of voluntarily doing challenging, good things which help us stretch and grow and become more than we thought we could become.

Here are pictures of each ward in their white scrubs at Pine Summit.

These are the YCLs acting as Helaman's warriors during a morning devotional.  The YCLs played a very active and important role with camp.  We were grateful (as a stake yw presidency) to work with them.

Chanin, Laura, ME, Tara - We dressed up and did a little performance of "Say A Little Prayer For You" for all of our young women.  We changed the words to reflect when and how we pray for them.  We were so scared, but the girls loved it and we had lots of fun.

Here are pictures of Laura, Tara and me with Kaylee at Pine Summit.

This was a beautiful scene (and every moving) at camp when all the young women used candles while we sang the camp song, "I Will"

Sister Bagley is a member of the general yw board.  She came to speak with our girls at camp and she did the Temple Journey with us.  Her presence was a blessing to all of the young women and to our presidency.  She has become one of my favorite people and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have spent time with her.

We did it!  We can do hard things!!
